SteamboatGrandLuxury, beauty, comfort, location and value all describe the Steamboat Grand experience and explain why the locals have named The Steamboat Grand the best local hotel in Best of the Boat.

What makes this a great family getaway in summer? Let’s start with the pool, just like your kids will want to do. It’s one of the best features of the hotel. Enjoy their year-round, heated, saltwater pool and two huge hot tubs. Our little one loves hot tubs and had so much fun “swimming” around in these – yes, they are large enough to swim in! Order cocktails and lunch, dinner or just a snack from the Poolside Bistro. Access the indoor spa area without ever leaving the pool, where you will find a dry sauna and eucalyptus infused steam room.

Gondola Square, Steamboat Springs
Situated at the base of the mountain with gorgeous views in every direction, you’re just a few minutes walk to Gondola Square and the Coca-Cola Adventure Zone. Take the gondola to the top of the mountain and hike or bike down. Or, just hang out at the Oasis Sun Deck and enjoy the view! Going downtown for the Alpine Slide or Old Town Hot Springs? The Steamboat Grand is located right on the bus route, or take advantage of their free shuttle service. We loved being in the middle of it all without ever having to get in our car.

Steamboat GrandThe Steamboat Grand gives you options on accomodations. They offer the standard hotel rooms, plus one-, two- and three-bedroom condos. There are eight penthouse suites for those who want an even grander experience. The Double Queen is the standard room or choose the Deluxe King which includes a fireplace and whirlpool tub. All rooms include a 32” flat-screen TV and free Wifi – both musts with my family.

The award winning, family-friendly, Cabin Restaurant and Bar on property is definitely worth checking out if you come. Besides the warm, inviting atmosphere, the food is fabulous. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast there and appreciated the special kid’s menu for our picky eater.
