Disneyland has been working very hard to bring Disney guests and Disney Star Wars fans one of the most comprehensive land experiences – Season of the Force. Season of the Force officially opens November 16, 2015; I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek at Season of the Force before it opened and know fans are going to beyond thrilled. The entire Season of the Force experience is completely immersive and transports Star Wars fans of all ages into a world they love. Tomorrowland has been transformed and offers guests new and enhanced experiences.
Star Tours is due for a bit of an enhancement with the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming soon to theatres. Star Tours has always taken you on a tour around the galaxy and even calls out one of the rebels that hides amongst us. The Season of The Force layover brings a new scene into Star Tours straight from the movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The Path of The Jedi
The Tomorrowland theatre once was where we got to meet Captain EO, got shrunk down during Honey I Shrunk The Audience and other 4D experiences. During Season of The Force, the theatre is home to the Path of The Jedi, a history of Luke Skywalker and his journey to becoming a Jedi Master. There may even be a sneak peek of the new Star Wars movie.
Season of The Force gives new meaning to Space Mountain and adds even more excitement to the parks especially with Disneyland 60. Riders can ride alongside an X-Wing as they battle in the galaxies that we’ve imagined multiple times before. New projections will bring the X-Wings to life and bring those dreams of fighting in the rebellion to life.
Star Wars Launch Bay
The Innoventions building is now home to the Star Wars Launch Bay. Star Wars fans all over get welcomed into the building by two stormtroopers from the first order and shuffled to make a decision. Only for the Season of The Force, guests choose either following the light or the dark side of the force. Choosing the dark side gets you a meeting with Lord Darth Vader. Choose the light side and Chewbacca will be waiting to bring you into the rebellion.
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple
Just in front of the Tomorrowland Terrace is the training academy for young Jedi. During Season of The Force, the academy brings characters from both the light and the dark side of Disney Channel’s Star Wars Rebels. Learn to become a Jedi and maybe even fight against a Sith lord or Inquisitor.
Along with great new experiences, Season of The Force brings new food and treats that are a MUST when visiting the park. Blue milk (a drink Star Wars fans everywhere have been waiting to try) and the Cheese 3PO Burger at the new Galactic Grill (Tomorrowland Terrace) passed our taste test for sure! There will also be plenty of new merchandise so be sure to allow time to check it all out. The Disneyland Resort has yet to announce an end date for Season of The Force however, it’s truly an experience you don’t want to miss.
