The key to hotel happiness is a comfy bed, plenty of pillows and solicitous service. The Omni Los Angeles is one of the few affordably priced hotels that hits all three.
The newly renovated Omni is in the heart of downtown Los Angeles and the courtesy car will take guests anywhere within a three mile radius of the hotel. For us, that meant a free ride into the fashion district with its colorful rolls of fabric spilling into the street and the florist areas where the buckets of red roses, white daisies and yellow mums lined the sidewalks. Our destination: King Taco, home of some of the best $1.29 tacos sold anywhere. Robert, the solicitous courtesy car driver, waited while we ordered and refused the tip we offered when he returned us safely to the hotel 30 minutes later.
After being drenched in a rare LA rainstorm, flash frozen during a difficult bus ride that was complicated by a not-so-rare LA traffic jam, it was more than comforting to close the door to our comfy room and crawl into that warm, comfy bed. A movie on the widescreen HDTV lulled us to sleep after a long and grueling day.
