The holidays are a magical time of year at the Disneyland Resort. Each and every year the park is transformed into a holiday spectacular. This truly is one of our favorite times to visit the parks, but with all there is to see and do, planning the parades and entertainment we want to see is important.

Christmas Fantasy Parade

This parade can typically be seen twice a day at 3:00 pm and 5:45 pm and brings the holiday magic alive as your favorite characters and Santa delight in beautiful holiday music…Disney style. This parade takes place by It’s a Small World and lasts about 40 minutes.  If you have Frozen fans like our little girl, they will love seeing Anna and Elsa in the parade!

This is a high-energy street party lead by the Three Caballeros: Donald Duck and his amigos Panchito from Mexico and Jose Carioca from Brazil. Mariachi and samba musicians, live bands, festive Disney characters, and beautiful decorations bring this Latina celebration to life on Paradise Pier in Disney California Adventure.

World of Color – Winter Dreams:

This is hands down my favorite show at Disneyland; during the holidays at the Disneyland Resort I get caught between the wonder of our favorite Disney characters and movies coming to life on the wall of water and watching the profile of our children’s faces as they take it all in. “World of Color – Winter Dreams” reflects the holiday magic and includes the popular “Frozen” characters this year, making it an even bigger hit with children.

Because of the popularity of this show, get your FASTPASS viewing tickets early in the day so you are guaranteed a place to watch. The show takes place on Paradise Pier in Disney California Adventure Park and lasts about 30 minutes; there are usually two viewing times – one at 9pm and another at 10:15pm.

It’s always best to spend two days at Disneyland Resort just so you can see “World of Color” AND the fireworks show. The fireworks show changes throughout the year and during the holidays you can feel the wonder and merriment explode in the sky above you. The show takes place over Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, which is its own holiday spectacular as it is lit up with 80,000 lights.

Downtown Disney Live Music

The holiday spirit can be found throughout the day at the Downtown Disney Live Stage where everyone can enjoy free music, entertainment and more.

The holidays at Disneyland can be celebrated through January 6, 2015. Follow this guide to plan your must see-events, map your routes to avoid getting lost, and be sure to confirm times online but most importantly – just take in the beauty of the season. The décor, music, shows and holiday attractions at Disneyland Resort fill our spirits with joy each and every year.
