art VegasSeriously, mom? Do I have to go to the Discovery Children’s Musuem again? Pretty sure if you have a child or are traveling with one that is “at that age” then you should take heed if you want to enjoy your Las Vegas vacation, too. There are plenty of things to do with your ‘tweens and teens that do not require being the legal age limit of 21.

The Mob Museum is a very cool spot to bring your kids if they are into that sort of thing. It’s full of history, not only about the making of the Mob in America, but also about the growth of Las Vegas and how they all came to be connected (pun intended). The Mob Musuem will keep your older kids entertained with trivia games, interactive exhibits, films and real like artifacts from throughout the mob’s history in Vegas. Make sure you plan a good 3-4 hours to really experience the whole musuem. The Mob Museum is not for the faint of heart, and there are some graphic photos and violent scenes you should be aware of.
mobmuseumThey’re old enough now…give them some culture! Download the City Center Fine Art Collection App on your smart phone, and take a walking tour of the public art pieces found at Aria, The Crystals, Vdara and Madarin Oriental. If that’s not enough, keep walking and head over to The Cosmopolitan where they will be dazzled by the program commissioned by the New York City Art Production fund. Collection pieces can be found throughout the Cosmopolitan’s lobby, restaurant levels and pool. Plus, it’s a fun photo opp! Other great art exhibits can be found at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art and Downtown in the Arts District.

If you feel the need to break away from the bustle of the casinos and the crowds of the Strip, head over to Town Square, just south of Mandalay Bay. There you will find a ‘tweens paradise of shopping like Sephora, Gap, Juicy Couture, and Abercrombie and Fitch. Mom and Dad will love the apple store, The Container Store, Whole Foods and Coffee Bean to make you feel like you really are in a normal town. Keep the kids entertained with great restaurants and a Rave Cinema; there’s even a town park for them to just chill at.
