harrahs1South Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada (Stateline) is a vacationing family’s paradise with endless water sports in the summer, cycling and hiking in the fall and spring and world class skiing in the winter.

The next time you find yourself in the area, just a couple of short yet beautifully scenic hours from Sacramento, be sure to enjoy the area’s best buffet.

The Forest Buffet on the 18th floor of Harrah’s Lake Tahoe is truly a great buffet dining experience with  multi-ethnic offerings and desserts of every kind imaginable.

harrahs2If at all possible, arrive early as lines can be long during peak dining hours and ask to be seated at the west facing windows overlooking spectacular bird’s eye views of Lake Tahoe and the mountains.

King Crab, Filet Mignon, Prime Rib, Chinese, Pizza, Ribs, Fried Chicken, Fajitas and Sushi, along with comfort foods and desserts make this a well rounded and easily pleasing full service buffet.

It is a bit pricey but the view is magnificent and the food is good. My tween daughter now begs to eat there for her annual birthday trip to Lake Tahoe. That says a lot.

The Forest Buffet has been voted the “Best Buffet” in the annual Best of Tahoe’s Reader’s poll conducted by the Tahoe Daily Tribune as it has also been deemed “Lake Tahoe’s Best Buffet” in Casino Player Magazine.
