phoenixWhat family wouldn’t love a family vacation filled with baseball games, luxurious accommodations and warm weather? My family recently experienced all of these and more on our family vacation to Phoenix, Arizona during Cactus League Spring Training.

We started our vacation at the gorgeous, family-friendly Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ, where the kids loved the fabulous kids’ activities – both in the kids’ club and poolside. They even attended a pajama party on site while my husband and I dined at the amazing deseo. They also had the opportunity to bake some cookies with the chef while participating in the popular Kids in the Kitchen program.

All of the food at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa was excellent. We dined at two locations – Nellie Cashman’s Monday Club and the Brittlebush Bar and Grill. Both were wonderful. We also spend quite a bit of time at the pool, and especially loved the adventure pool with its lazy river.

We also stayed at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, a five-star resort also located in Scottsdale. The resort offers standard hotel rooms, but we stayed in one of the family casitas, which offers a bit more space for families. While my children attended the kid’s camp in the morning, I had the chance to get a treatment at the amazing Willow Stream Spa, one of the best spas in America. It was so relaxing – I’d highly recommend it! While there, we also had dinner at the on-site La Hacienda, which was delicious.

While we could have spent all of our time at the two resorts, we did also want to visit a few local attractions. We went to the Desert Botanical Garden, SEA LIFE Arizona, and the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. We also visited two spring training games – one at Salt River Fields and one at the Tempe Diablo Stadium.

My family had a wonderful time, and we are already planning our spring training trip for next year!

Disclosure: We were hosted at both hotels and received some meals and activities at no cost.
