Spring break is a perfect time to gather your multi-generational family and experience a Colorado vacation, and that’s just what I did, adding a family snowmobile adventure. I bundled up my daughter, her husband, and my two grandchildren for a snowy road trip to Sunlight Mountain Resort, near Glenwood Springs, Colorado, less than three hours west of Denver.

Our plan was for the ficve of us to enjoy a Family Snowmobile tour, but my granddaughter and son-in-law came down with the flu (bummer for spring break!). We still wanted to to experience a family adventure vacation, so we left our two sick family members in Glenwood Springs.

DestinationReviewThree family adventurers (my daughter and grandson and I) checked in at Sunlight Mountain Inn, located on the left just before Sunlight Moutain Resort.  The 1.5 hour family-friendly snowmobile tour winds into the White River National Forest. We stopped along the way at the Tri-County Point for a short break to take photos and then return to Sunlight.

I’m definitely a thrill seeker, while my oldest daughter is more cautious. This was my daughter’s first snowmobile ride, so  she rode more tentatively. We opted to have our guide double up with my 5-year-old grandson, but eventually, he decided to ride with Grandma.  Apparently my grandson likes fast snowmobiles too, so we revved the engine (safely) to get some wind in our face.  Verdict — adding a family snowmobile adventure to our Colorado family vacation upped the fun!
