Traveling to Disneyland and California Adventure Park is an exciting time for all families but we have found a secret way to experience more excitement and happiness to keep the magic alive: Have one nice sit down meal during the day.  Wine Country Trattoria is one of the restaurants we enjoy at California Adventure Park, especially during the later hours of the day.

The Restaurant

The vibe at Wine Country Trattoria is a sort of rustic chic meets Napa – a casual vibe is perfect for families and one that can be dressed up or down depending on your mood. As a TravelingMom, one of the things I enjoy most about Wine Country Trattoria is that it is casual enough to go to in your regular park attire and feel comfortable.

Parents can feel comfortable dining with children of all ages at Wine Country Trattoria; we see children of all ages when we eat there and it’s a major plus to have the distraction of the park and people watching at your fingertips. We saw plenty of parents with little ones in strollers roll them right up to the table as well.

There are two levels of dining at Wine Country Trattoria and I believe the upper tier is for those who dine with the World of Color dining package.Disneyland Dining Wine Country Trattoria Restaurant

Note to self: Adding this to our Disneyland bucket list for sure!

The Menu

Italian fans will rejoice at the menu and since children are typically pasta lovers, they will too!

Additionally, if you love wine, this is the place to come at Disneyland Resort.  We found the pasta dishes we ordered to be outstanding and the red wine our server suggested was the perfect match.  Servers are very knowledgeable as well to guide you in your menu choices.  The one thing I would love to see is a nice pizza on the menu; after all, it is an Italian restaurant, right?

For the Kids

Wine Country Trattoria has a nice kids menu with many of their favorites and healthier options which is nice after what is sure to be a day of treats in the parks. The grilled chicken with pasta and vegetables was such a wonderful healthy option to refuel and balance out all of the treats Ava had consumed during the day. Cal loved his pizza and both kids loved the extra perks that come with eating here during parades.

Reservations

Because of the prime location and open air, it is always best to make reservations at Wine County Trattoria in California Adventure Park.  If you want to experience the restaurant while viewing the “World of Color” show, they should be made further in advance.  Something about vacation and planning do not go hand in hand with us so we often wing it while dining at Disneyland Resort and have had to wait only a short ten minutes or so. Reservations can be made by calling (714) 781-DINE or by booking online.

TMOM Travel Tip

If you make a reservation at Wine Country Trattoria and enjoy parades and shows within California Adventure Park, plan your reservations to overlap with parade times.  Our children love dining outdoors on the main patio and watching the entire show from our front row seats at the restaurant.  My husband and I enjoyed being able to sit back with a glass of wine and watch the joy on our children’s faces.
