Approximately 4.5 million people visit Oahu each year and most of them stay in famous Waikiki. If you are looking for an all around best hotel, look no further than the only all-suite Waikiki Hotel, The Embassy Suites Waikiki.
It is located just steps away from the world-famous Waikiki Beach and is in the heart of Waikiki Beach Walk. Now that Waikiki has had a major face lift, Beach Walk is the hot spot, featuring the best dining, shopping, and activities.
A few days ago, I had the opportunity to stay in their one bedroom suite and play tourist. I am so excited to share my experience with you because I am now an Embassy Suites believer. I have stayed in some pretty luxurious hotels in Hawaii and beyond, but I have to say this experience has changed my mind about staying in a traditional hotel room. My family and I could not stop singing their praises.
Upon arriving to Embassy Suites, Hawaiian hospitality is in abundance. When you arrive, there is no standing in line. You sit on couches and can sip some strawberry rose petal and lemon water. Then you are greeted with a tall glass of orange guava juice.
When I opened the door to the suite I was amazed at how much room the one bedroom suite offers. How did I ever survive for so long in a standard room? Everything from the linens to the lanai were pristinely clean (I was impressed when I noticed the maid next door washing the curtains). There were candies, popcorn, snacks and bottled water waiting to refresh us on the counter and two lovely white robes that screamed relaxation folded on the bed.
After a day of swimming, snorkeling and shopping we were in need of a break before dinner. I can’t tell you how valuable the suite space was. My husband was able to watch football in the bedroom, while my daughter and I unwound on the couch playing card games and my mother enjoyed tea on the balcony. Our dinner that night at Ruth Chris Steak House was excellent and it’s connected to the hotel. Oh, and a free fireworks show to boot every Friday night that can be seen from many places in Waikiki.
The views are breathtaking, but that’s not all. Here are some of the amenities that we enjoyed:
Again, I was shocked that a free buffet could be so good and I am a very picky organic gourmet eater. It was meticulously clean with so much staff that there was not a drop of any food out of place. Every tray was washed and hot after each use. The Eggs and omelets prepared to order with locally grown fruits and island Portuguese sausage and rice were delicious. They also serve french toast, pancakes, danish, healthy miso soup and mescalin salads. Also, worthy to note was the yummy coffee that I drank too much of.
Evening Manager’s Reception
Hosted poolside from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy unlimited cocktails, music, sunsets, and hula performances at the open-air, 4th-floor Grand Lanai. We almost missed our dinner reservation because we had so much fun watching the Hula show!
Heated Swimming Pool
Their pool is lovely with a keiki (children’s) side and jacuzzi as well.
Every suite has a wet bar that includes microwaves, compact refrigerators and coffee makers. There is complimentary high-speed Internet service and all of your local calls are free with complimentary U.S. and Canadian long-distance calls for the first 30 minutes!

I tried really hard to find something…anything that could be improved upon. The concierge was overly helpful and the entire staff anticipated every need and fulfilled it. I can not speak for all Embassy Suites but this was a quality stay.
Yes, this is truly a Mom’s Best Bet and The Embassy Suites Waikiki is where our family will stay in December when we come back.
