Family travel to Disneyland Resort doesn’t always have to include staying on-site. The Anaheim Hilton is a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel, located only one block from the park (adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center). The hotel includes several options for guest rooms or suites – and if you’d like a stunning view of Disneyland, that’s available too. This kid-friendly hotel even has an on-site Disney Desk where you can purchase your park tickets directly from a cast member.
I recently enjoyed a night’s stay, and after a long (cold and rainy) day at the park, the comfort that this hotel offers was even more welcomed.
The rooms are of a modern design and spacious. I stayed in a King room with a Disney view and was thrilled to be able to catch portions of World of Color through the floor to ceiling window. My room was part of a suite or could be used separately just as a guest room since the bedroom portion had its own entrance door and key. My favorite part of the room (other than the view, of course) was the large desk and very comfy office chair – there’s even a panel where you can plug in your electronics. Room are available with either 2 queen or 1 king bed, plus the option of either a lanai and/or Disney view.
Although it was already dark when I arrived, my room had a direct view of the pool area. Along with the large pool, there are 2 hot tubs and a play area for kids – and plenty of space for parents to spread out and relax in the southern California sun.
Another kid-friendly spot is the Character Club store where you can find themed items from not only Disney, but just about every other children’s cartoon too. My kids would have loved it – but my wallet was glad that they weren’t with me on this trip. If they had been, however, I could have taken advantage of the onsite childcare services. There’s even a pet sitting service as well.
Other hotel amenities include a beauty salon, barber shop, coin laundry, gift shop/convenience store, business services and an on-site Guest Activity/Recreation desk. The Health Club offers spa services, weight-training and cardio equipment and even exercise classes.
The Anaheim Hilton offers a large range of dining options for families, with their on-site Mix Restaurant providing free kids meals for lunch and dinner (per purchased adult meal), along with the Pool Bar & Grill (re-opening in 2012), and even a food court that has a Starbucks, Sbarro, Baja Fresh Express, Just Grillin’ and Submarina. Room service is also available.
I received a complimentary one-night stay at the Anaheim Hilton. Pool area photo from Hilton Anaheim website.
