Hotels for Family Travel in the Conejo Valley

Traveling is always made easier when we know our hotel accommodations will allow us to be comfortable as a family when traveling.

TMOM disclosure graphicWhat determines that comfort though is often dependent upon our travel plans at our destination; sight seeing, pool time and relaxation, dining out are all things that we consider when booking our hotel. Β During a recent trip to the Conejo ValleyΒ we took a look at these four hotels that are great for family travel.

Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Valley, Lake Sherwood, Newbury Park, Oak Park, Thousand Oaks, and Westlake Village. Β Best Western Plus offers has a great central location in Thousand Oaks. That made it easy for our family to get to all of the fun things to do in the area, including the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Β Prices range from about $110 – $160 per night at the Best Western Plus Thousand Oaks Inn making it affordable for families as well with standard accommodations and one on-site restaurant as well as free Wi-Fi.

Don’t forget my recommendation of spending time at Zuma Beach in the Conejo Valley; these bare essentials are perfect for a beach day.

Palm Garden Hotel

If you are traveling to the Conejo Valley and looking for the feel of a non-chain hotel, the Palm Garden Hotel is perfect for you. Β I immediately enjoyed the old school vibe with

chandeliers and pianos in the lobby and the iconic Hollywood Suite. Β The on-restaurant and lounge was personally thought out with intention for the hotel and connects guest to each other and the area. Β The Palm Garden Hotel nightly rates start at $109.00 and there is a great pool the kids will love!

Another plus – the covered pool seating areas that families can use free of charge. I would recommend grabbing these areas early to enjoy a sun safe day at the pool.

Sheraton Agoura Hills

One of the things we enjoy most about traveling is dining out and getting a feel for the local vibe through the awesome restaurants. Conejo Valley is no exception and offers some completely amazing restaurants that are perfect for family travel.

The Sheraton Agoura Hills is perfect for families that want to enjoy some finer amenities during their stay while still enjoying the convenient central Agoura Hills location.

My husband and I love wine and liked the new nightly Social Hour offered at this hotel that features wines rated a 90 or higher by Wine Spectator. The tasting is even better because it’s served in Riedel stemware.

The hotel was recently updated. I know the new heated outdoor pool would be a hit with our two children.

Hyatt Westlake Plaza

Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Thousand Oaks was the highest end hotel we found for our travel needs.

Quite honestly, this will be where we stay next time we visit the Conejo Valley area because we like to be surrounded in complete comfort when we travel as a family. From the entrance to the room, Hyatt Westlake Plaza is top notch and also has one of our favorite restaurants in the area, Harvest Kitchen and Bar. Knowing we can find amazing food right on site is a true travel convenience.

Conejo Valley encompasses the northern area of LA County and the southeastern Ventura County, which is filled with some beautiful and perhaps lesser known areas that await discovery! Β If you go to Hyatt and book this hotel, Traveling Mom will receive a referral fee.
