Having had great luck with Holiday Inn Express locations lately, most recently in Flagstaff, that brand was my first choice when I needed to book a quick overnight stay in Scottsdale, Arizona. I knew I could expect a comfortable room with a free breakfast but was pleased to find even more at this location.

Spacious Features at the Holiday Inn Express

The best feature is that it’s an all-suite location, giving families plenty of room to spread out. The living room featured a sofa sleeper, large desk, television, mini fridge and microwave. I love having a separate living area to relax in once the kids go to bed. We also had a small walk-out patio, giving us a nice outdoor space to enjoy.

As expected, they also had a nice sized pool and complimentary hot breakfast. I was surprised to learn this Holiday Inn Express also offers an evening manager’s reception with drinks and appetizers. A complimentary local area shuttle is also available, perfect for visiting Old Town favorites like the Sugar Bowl.

The location of the hotel in Old Town Scottsdale was the first thing that appealed to me. We were in town to attend Monster Jam in downtown Phoenix and a food truck festival in Scottsdale.

The Holiday Inn Express was only a few minutes away from several freeways making it a very convenient location for our weekend. This location would also be perfect for watching spring training games.

My family would definitely stay there again, maybe to visit McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park again. I recommend joining their rewards program, we were upgraded to a room next to the pool because of my membership. It would have been perfect if the boys had gone swimming.
