A little over a year ago, my best friend of over 20 years asked if I would be a bridesmaid in her wedding. I knew right away that I would travel to wherever she wanted so that I could stand by her side on her special day.  A few months after her engagement she began making wedding plans. She knew it would be in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the beginning of November, and at Talking Stick Resort. So I hit the Internet and started figuring out my flight and hotel accommodations. Regardless of how many months I had until her wedding, I was a stay-at-home and so money was tight and time was scarce. But I did find one hotel that fit the price AND location.

DestinationReviewThe upscale, brand new Hampton Inn and Suites in Scottsdale was the first (and only) choice – in my book.  It had all the luxury and convenience without the luxury price tag. Conveniently located just off Loop 101 in the heart of Scottsdale in the hip Riverwalk Development directly across from Talking Stick Resort & Casino (where the wedding was held), I couldn’t have been more pleased with my decision. And after seeing the breathtaking view of the Arizona Mountains (ie: Camelback Mountain) right from my hotel room … I was kicking myself for not booking a couple more nights.

Some people call Scottsdale the Beverly Hills of Arizona.  And I can completely see why. There’s only one place where you can get your boots dusty and dirty during the day and then dine and dance in stilettos at night. A place where you can eat hash for breakfast and then have caviar for dinner. Somewhere that’s completely complex … yet nostalgically serene. I wish I had visited sooner!

Upon my arrival at Hampton Inn, I was greeted with a very friendly face at the front desk and even allowed early check-in with no extra charge. I was advised on where everything was in the hotel and all the amenities they had to offer. My favorite by far though … the complimentary (tips welcome) shuttle that takes you to and from Talking Stick Casino. All I had to do was call the front desk to arrange a pickup time and they were always there waiting for me.  The shuttle only runs until 9:00pm but if you aren’t quite ready to leave the casino by then, there are golf carts that will take you to the end of the Resort parking lot and then it’s literally a skip and a hop to the Hampton Inn.

Complimentary Services at Hampton Inn Scottsdale – Because Everybody LOVES Free!

  • At Hampton Inn & Suites in Scottsdale, you can enjoy complimentary shuttle service to anywhere within a 5-mile radius of the hotel until 9pm.

  • Free 24-hour coffee and tea in the hotel lobby.
  • Free in-room movie channel.
  • Free Hot Breakfast (it was delicious and very satisfying!).
  • Free hotel parking.
  • Complimentary printing service and internet access for those there on business.
  • And while I unfortunately didn’t have time to break a sweat … the hotel also has a workout facility and swimming pool.

I was more than honored to be a part of my best friend’s wedding. While I didn’t stay at the same resort where she was having her wedding and her family was staying … nobody would’ve ever known if I hadn’t of told them.  And because the Hampton Inn & Suites is right across the street and offers their complimentary shuttle, I was able to enjoy every single minute of my girl’s special day. And I was also able to enjoy the comfort, convenience, and luxury … without paying the luxury price tag! Win, Win!

Disclosure: I was fortunately hosted on this trip to Scottsdale that I unfortunately did not have my toddler tagging along due to my busy wedding schedule. I am already planning another trip back to this beautiful Arizona Mecca … but this time with the tot in tow!
