Like all Omnis, the hotel is part of an amazing loyalty program, that offers even first time guests, who sign up for the program, free Wi-Fi and a free morning drink.
Free Wi-Fi is usually a perk at lower quality hotels; to have it at a luxury hotel is a true bonus.
And every time I’ve stayed at an Omni I’ve gotten cookies and other treats my first night, as a ‘special’ guest.
At this Omni, you’d do well to step outside – to the outdoor infinity pool, with a huge hot tub, expansive sun deck and bar.
You can also go outside at the Texas Spice patio. This lobby level restaurant has great cocktails – try the lower calorie margarita with agave nectar – and local beer on tap. There is also local produce used in the salads and not too spicy guacamole.
If you overdo it on the drinks. there’s a large gym. It is tricked out with lots of free weights, strength machines and cardio equipment with individual TV screens. My only complaint is that my favorite piece of equipment, a Bosu ball, was absent. But there were stability balls, mats, weighted balls and plenty of space. If you don’t get a good workout, that’s on you.
Note: My room at the Omni was included in the Family Travel Conference fee.
