Bucce’s: Proof That Everything is Bigger in Texas

On a trip to Texas we started seeing more and more billboards with a chipper looking beaver on them. “Bucce’s” they’d announce, only 32 miles away. “Cleanest restrooms in America!” the next one exclaimed. Curiosity got the better of my husband and I- “What is Bucce’s?” we both kept asking each other. “We have to stop and see,” my husband said. After stopping we realized the better question was “What ISN’T Bucce’s?”, because it is everything. It is a gas station, rest stop, snack store, and souvenir oasis. It is also a good place to pick up a Yeti cooler, deer feed, and a blinged out gun case. Come Thanksgiving Bucce’s New Braunfels location will be the busiest rest stop in the Southern United States.

First you pull up. We were overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of gas pumps. Funniest part- they just built a whole new row so there are now twice as many! 120 gas pumps await your every fueling need.

Next you see that they are preparing for the next Ice Age.

Now I don’t want to call myself a country bumpkin, but coming from rural Vermont and walking into this monstrous store was overwhelming on a new level.

There is an entire wall of just nuts.

For you nut purists out there- don’t worry, the trail mix has it’s own wall.

But let’s not forget what Bucce’s is famous for- their super clean giant restrooms.
