Romance can be more than just a dozen red roses, a nice dinner, or a night out – but something much more special.
A few years ago, I left Missouri for Tulsa, Oklahoma for a short vacation. While there, I toured the Gilcrease Museum of Art. As I learned about history, art, and beauty at the museum, I kept thinking: this would make the perfect date.
Breathtaking Views and a Delightful Lunch at Gilcrease Museum of Art
The layout of Gilcrease Museum of Art includes both indoor and outdoor areas. Nestled in the Osage Hills, Oklahoma, the view from the dining hall was so spectacular I could barely focus to eat (not usually a challenge for me). The Restaurant at Gilcrease is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm, and offers a traditional Sunday brunch.
Inside the Gilcrease Museum of Art
Admittedly, I am no art expert; I certainly love art, but unlike most people who frequent art galleries,I visit for the scenery. I want to look at the art and imagine myself as part of it, thinking about what I would be doing, how I would feel.
On my visit to Gilcrease Museum of Art, my unique taste for art was entirely satisfied. With a long Native American ancestry, I have always wondered what life must have been like for my great grandfather and his family. I enjoyed looking at the many traditional and modern pieces of Native American art and artifacts. The museum’s collection is an art collection of the Americas, featuring artist such as William Robinson Leigh, Charles Marion Russell, Charles Schreyvogel, and many others. With over 10,000 pieces in the collection, visitors are sure to find something that catches your eye.
