What kid doesn’t love a vacation? I sure did. My favorite part was running out the front door and jumping in the backseat of the car. I loved knowing that Mom had taken care of all the details so all we had to do was have fun.

More and more, when I talk to other moms these days and ask them about their vacations, they sigh an exhausted sigh and say, “I need a vacation from my vacation – it was exhausting.”  As moms, how do we go on vacation and get a chance to feel like we are on vacation, too?  Recently, I had the chance to go on vacation and do just that – vacation.DestinationReview

My teenage daughter and I were going to Orlando and visiting a number of locations. I love going to Orlando, but typically we would go to one location and stay at the resort hotel associated with that attraction. This time we would be going to a number of locations and I was sort of nervous about how to make it all work. We were given the opportunity to stay at and review an AllStar Vacation property, which answered the question about where to stay. The property was centrally located between all of the major attractions: Disney World, Universal Studios, Cape Canaveral, SeaWorld, and other sights.

Finding Our AllStar Condo

We made the arrangements, and the week before the trip we received a couple of emails from AllStar with full details about the location and the key code to get into the condo. There were phone numbers to call if there were any problems and links to view the property in advance. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but after a long flight and a long line at the rental car desk, it was really nice to follow the driving instructions to the property and be greeted at the gate by a guard who was friendly and helpful and somehow seemed to be glad we were there.

We drove to the condo unit, and I was a little confused about which building housed our reserved unit. We called the number that had been provided and the person who answered the phone was warm and friendly. She helped me find the right unit and stayed on the phone with me until I had successfully entered the key code. Once we were in, we discovered that there were all kinds of information about the property and the area laid out for us. There were coupons to local restaurants and even the phone number for a concierge doctor who would come to the condo if we needed that particular service.

Family-Friendly Accommodations

There were three bedrooms in our unit, each with their own bathroom along with a full kitchen and closet washer and dryer.  The open floor plan had the kitchen looking out over a dining room area and a living room area that had a big screen TV, game system, and desktop computer / work area.  This all led out to a covered porch with a table and chairs.

We got settled in and then drove down the road about a mile to a street that had a huge variety of restaurants and supercenters.  We got dinner and brought the leftovers with us. Then we went to the supercenter and picked up some orange juice and muffins for breakfast the next day.

That evening,  we retired to our own rooms that had our own TVs and took showers in our bathrooms.  After a long day, it was so nice to just be able to completely unwind. And to make everything more vacationesque, the beds were elegant and the rooms were very quiet.  I love going on family vacations, but that often means being in motels with other loud families, near busy highways, or some other sound.  We used to be the family that somehow always got the room by the ice machine.  But this place was quiet.  We slept like we were on vacation.

Going to Disney World from our AllStar Vacation rental was amazing.  We slept in until 9 (I never do that at home!) and had a nice breakfast, then got in the car. We arrived at Disney World in about 5 minutes.  We have a great day there that lasted late into the evening but we had such a nice relaxing morning that it was no problem.

If you are traveling with a large family or just need the flexibility of a vacation home with a central location check out all the options at AllStar Vacation Homes.  They have some amazing selections in Florida, California and even Idaho and are priced at very reasonable prices.

I almost felt like a kid again. It was nice going on vacation and having someone else take care of all the details. For any mom, that’s a vacation.

AllStar Vacations provided us with the accommodations for this review. The service provided was standard for any guest staying at one of their locations and my opinions are my own.
