Busy theme parks often have a go-go-go atmosphere, but it’s important in family travels to have spaces for quiet time. There are several places within the LEGOLAND Florida Resort that allow for quiet building time to give families and kids of all kinds a chance to recharge before jumping back into the action.

Anytime I think of theme parks (any theme park), I think of tired, sticky kids tantruming in the parking lot at the end of an overstimulated day. Those are just my go-to thoughts as a mom and  orchestrater of vacations.

Missed naps, tears, throw ups and tantrums are things most parents have experienced at some point, but in the end I believe 100% that family travel is worth it.

Why Bother With Family Travel?

In between the potential complications of family travel, real memories are made and kids and parents alike get to experience things they’ll never forget. It’s like Christmas morning at various points in the day, though all 24 hours may not be charming.

Those golden moments when we see or experience something new and amazing make it all worth it. In my experience, kids learn so much through family travels. There are definite pain points along the way and things don’t always go smoothly. So it’s important to pace yourself and think as smart as you can, but remember – but those memories can’t be beat.

How Can You Pace Yourself at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort?

I seek out places that offer resting points. I mean real resting points, where you can stop and breathe and take a little time to decompress. And we found several of those spots at the LEGOLAND Resort in Florida.

There are several benches along the path and several places to eat, but when you’re at LEGOLAND, you want to build things too, right?

It makes sense that the Legoland Resort would want to afford guests the opportunity to build with LEGO bricks pretty much anytime they want. And you can. We found ample opportunity to slow things down with informal builds throughout the day. It came in handy to rest our feet and brains and it brought us through to the end of the day without any major fits. Myself included!

Where Can You Do Quiet Builds at the LEGOLAND Park?

There are several LEGO building stations throughout the park. Every ride has a small building station to keep kids entertained and occupied in long lines. We went on a weekday in the late afternoon so we didn’t run into a lot of long lines, but the spots are there if we need them (and a really smart idea!).

Our favorite spot was the Ninjago exhibit. We came in here full speed ahead, enjoying the physical activities of the exhibit and the characters. We needed a break by the time we saw everything twice and finished the Ninjago ride. This is where we spent the most time and we were grateful for it.

The Ninjago Monastery is another great building spot. You can add your own creations at the bottom of the mountain.

It was just the right amount of time and we all enjoyed a nice breeze as the weather cooled off in the late afternoon. It was a welcome break.

Where Can You Do Quiet Builds at the LEGOLAND Hotel?

I loved that as we walked into the LEGOLAND Hotel, there was a big building spot in the middle of the lobby and a place to display your creations.

A nice young lady dressed in character showed the boys around to the building spots and play area as I got checked in at the front desk. It was such a relief, as they were ramped up and ready to go! They checked out the cafe, building pit and Castle play areas first thing.

Near the Castle play area, there is also the LEGO Club. It is an open, but more private area for kids that might need quiet time. My youngest really enjoyed this area at the end of a long day in the park. This is also where they do the free LEGO Master Model Builder Workshop sessions that you can sign up for during your stay.

Every room at the LEGOLAND Hotel also comes equipped with a LEGO kit. They are not for keeps, but really come in handy in the room before bedtime.

There is also a treasure chest in each room with surprises inside for the kids. Answer a few easy questions in the welcome pamphlet in your room to get the lock combination and enjoy!

Is LEGOLAND a Place Where Everyone Can Relax?

I have one child that’s very calculating and deliberate, and one that runs down the lane, arms flailing going full speed ahead without any real focus. I was happy to find activities at the parks and hotel to satisfy both of them and their quirks.

To be honest, LEGO bricks are the one thing that my non-focused child can really sit down and concentrate on for long periods of time. LEGOLAND was the perfect blend of exciting theme park fun and quiet building time for us.

My youngest enjoyed quiet time in the LEGO Club and then jumped right into the 8 p.m. Pajama Dance Party in the Castle play area. Be sure to check out the video of the LEGOLAND Florida Resort below for a sneak peek!

Parents may also find comfort in the Skyline Lounge next to the Castle play area with a nice range of adult beverages, wink wink.

What Other Cool Things Can You Find at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort?

We saw so many detailed LEGO creations on a huge scale. We made note of those details with the help of the signs in the park.

We were also big fans of the Star Wars section and all of the interactive MiniLand displays, especially those where you push the button to squirt water or activate the moving parts.

After covering so much ground at the park, we were grateful that the LEGOLAND Hotel is so close to the park entrance. We walked less than a block back to the hotel, with a pool and restaurant on site.

We all made it in one piece at the end of the day; I believe having so many places to stop and rest and have quiet time was a major factor in that for all of us. Especially me.
