A family vacation can be full of non-stop fun. Our family of 4 keeps the itinerary packed with interesting, fun and educational activities. Sometimes Mom and Dad need an extra set of hands to keep the fun, fun and not too exhausting. Bringing the grandparents on trips has provided great memories and less stress.
Our recent stay at the Turnberry Isle Miami reminded us of how much we enjoy bringing Nana on a family vacation. The baby boomers are becoming grandparents. My mother, Nana to my kids, is a recent widow who has always loved traveling.
For many trips over the last 6 years we traveled along with my parents on beach vacations, trips to Disney and even a trip to New York City. There are many reasons families like my own opt to bring the grandparents on family trips – not every family trip though.
- Free babysitting. Yes, Granny & Grandpa often don’t mind watching the kids while you go to dinner, go shopping or any other activity that is a bit more enjoyable without the kids!
- Building memories. I remember my grandparents joining us on several family vacations as a child. I have memories of the fun I got to have with them somewhere other than our homes. As parents we can now set-up the same opportunities for rich, memorable experiences for our parents and our children.
- Provide opportunities for them to continue having travel experiences. As the grandparents get older, they may become more hesitant on where they can travel. Inviting them to come along with your family will give them the comfort they need to travel.
Turnberry Isle Miami
The Turnberry Isle was a perfect spot for a multigenerational trip. The resort is top-notch. The rooms are beautiful. The dining delicious and the service is the best of the best.
Bringing Nana provided time for her to relax and enjoy some time away from home. Our Deluxe Room with a Golf View was ample enough for our family of 5, although if we were staying for more days a suite or adjoining rooms might have provided additional privacy.
The resort is noted for its family friendly atmosphere, with a water slide, lazy river, spectacular pool, tennis courts, beach club and golf courses. Even with so many great kids activities, Nana could have a great time and sit back and enjoy her grandchildren as the noise level was always very low.
Throughout our stay, the resort maintained a relaxing atmosphere amongst all the family fun! You don’t find that in all family resorts. When selecting a resort for a multigenerational family trip, consider the needs of all generations. We did, and it worked out great!
The Turnberry Isle Miami is located at 19999 W. Country Club Drive in Aventura, just north of the City of Miami.
