‘Between emerald waters and heaven on earth’ … that’s the line Hilton Sandestin Beach Resort uses to promote its property, and that’s exactly what you’ll find when you put your toes in the sand on this little piece of paradise in Florida’s Panhandle.
My entire family spent a few days down in South Walton County, Florida, recently, staying at the resort that racks up the awards, from being named as one of the ‘Top 20 Florida Golf Resorts’ to one of the ‘Top 150 US Resorts’ by Conde Nast Traveler.
My family just calls it fun.
I like how peaceful it is, especially in the off season (read more about that here), while the kids enjoy all the fun options of things to do, both at the resort (think indoor swimming pool, putt putt and tennis) and the nearby Baytowne Wharf (shopping, ziplining, eating!).
A recent renovation makes the 30 year old resort feel new again. My family stayed in a junior sweet in the Emerald Tower and loved the bunk bed option that was separated from the rest of the room, giving the teens (or adults, depending on how you look at it) a little privacy.
But they didn’t have to spend a penny improving the part of the resort that brings our family back time after time: the sunsets. There’s nothing else like it with it’s hues of pink, purple and orange filling the sky. Watch the video below and you’ll see what I mean.
