One thing that I discovered about Fort Lauderdale is that, while most hotels accept kids, they don’t have any real activities for kids.

I was truly surprised to see all of those resorts of all sizes that didn’t have stuff for kids to do in a supervised setting or even with parents.

We like to go to the beach but we don’t just lounge around at the beach for hours. I am always looking for other fun activities for my family.

That’s how I found the Funky Fish Ocean Camp.

Things to Do in Fort Lauderdale: Funky Fish Camp

 in Fort Lauderdale

I must say that this is one of the most creative ideas I have seen for kids. It was founded over 20 years ago by Sarah-Jayne and has a great reputation.

Quick note: I visit South Florida every year and have some friends in the area. When I asked them about their opinion they all said that their kids have done this camp over and over again.

Why Funky Fish Camp is a must for your kids to try out:

• The camp is for kids between 5 and 12 years old
• They provide a full day of activities based around the beach and water sports
• There are always 2 or 3 counselors helping out
• Aside from the one day service they also offer weekly and monthly packages
• The camp starts at 10am and ends at 3pm
• Lunch is included
• The camp has a lot of locations around Fort Lauderdale and the main office is at Bahia Mar Resort.
• They get to learn new activities – for my son it was skim boarding
• You get a souvenir

My Son’s Take on It

When we picked him up at the end of the day he kept telling me that he wanted to go back the next day. He absolutely loved it.

We are returning next year for sure and my little one will be old enough to do this, too.
