This past year my dad turned 70. It was an important event and we wanted to celebrate it propertly. But I live in Central America and my brother lives in Boston and we weren’t able to meet.

However, we meet each year at my parent’s house in West Palm Beach. My brother and I decided that during this meet up we would take our papa out in style. We also took advantage of the fact that my family and I were staying at The Breakers Palm Beach.

DisclosureTMOMFlagler Steakhouse – Celebrating 70 Years in Style

Here is a confession: I am not a big fan of steak I even was a vegetarian for twelve years. But my parents love it and have visited the best steak houses from New York City to Argentina and many in between. So it would take a lot to please them.

Flagler Steakhouse was our top choice.

I might not be a steak expert but I have been to several steak houses before. And I have noticed that the waiter is almost as important as the food. You don’t want to get a waiter who doesn’t know the difference between Sirloin and aged meat. The one we got at Flagler was brilliant.

Our Steakhouse adventure and dining
We decided to trust him and go with his recommendations.

My oldest son sat down, opened the menu noticed hot dog and it was an instant order. When it arrived we couldn’t belief how big it was!

My three year old kept saying Soup, so I got him a French onion soup. It was sooooo full of flavor. But it came out at the same time as my oldest son’s hot dog, which came with French fries! So the soup was instantly forgotten.

I wanted to start my education on good steaks and we all wanted some variety, so each of us ordered a different one. We got:

  • Dry Aged Bone in New York Strip
  • T-Bone
  • Petite Filet Mignon
  • Sliced Filet Mignon, Wild Mushroom Cream

But being in a steakhouse doesn’t mean there aren’t other options. We also had Pan Roasted Chilean Sea Bass, Meyer Lemon Soft Herb Pistou and of course, the most common steak side, Creamed Spinach with Butter Crumble

For us dessert is just as important as the main dishes. It is mostly because of the kids but adults also enjoy it. We live in the birthplace of Tres Leches, Central America, but this was the best I ever had anywhere. Nothing will ever be the same back home.

Then it was silly time with grandma, one of the bonuses of dining with grandparents. They love playing.
