omniphilly5Picking the right place to lay your head at night can make or break your vacation – especially when you’re traveling with three generations. Recently my husband, Napoleon; our two kids, Miles, 11, and Milan, 9; Napoleon’s mom, Nannie; and I took a weekend trip from Atlanta to Philadelphia. We spent two nights at the Omni Hotel at Independence Park and loved it.I’ve stayed at several Omni properties before – it was my home when I ran the Chicago Marathon – and I have always had awesome experiences. Here are five reasons why my family thinks your family will love it, too:

OmniPhilly2The Location. It was incredibly convenient for all of our plans. It was a short 10-15 minute ride from the Philadelphia International Airport to the Omni’s curbside valet. It was also a quick 20 minute ride over the bridge to Napoleon’s hometown in the suburbs of South Jersey. We were walking distance to some of the best food in the city including Jones known for their American “comfort” food; and we walked to see some of Philadelphia’s most historic sites like the Liberty Bell.

The Rooms. The European-style hotel is luxurious, but still comfortable for kids, too. We shared two-adjoining rooms which worked perfectly for the five of us. We had plenty of space to relax since both rooms had sitting areas; and we could watch TV or log onto the Wi-Fi.

The Fitness Center. Napoleon and I took full advantage of their state-of-the-art fitness center while my mother-in-law watched the kids. They have everything you can think of to get a complete, full body workout including treadmills, ellipticals and other cardio equipment, free weights, balls, boxes, strength training machines and more. Napoleon says it’s the best hotel gym he’s been in and I think this one is a winner, too.

OmniPhilly4The Cookies. My kids’ LOVED that a bedtime snack – milk and cookies – were just a simple phone call away. All you have to do is call room service and they’ll deliver the goodies to your kids – for free.

The Customer Service. When I asked Nannie here favorite things about the hotel she said the accommodations were regal and the customer service was exceptional. Great customer service is super important to me – especially when I’m traveling and away from home. I need to be able to ask questions, get quick thorough responses and feel confident with the answers. The Omni has always delivered in this area and it’s no exception here.
