Do your kids love dinosaurs? If your kids are anything like mine when it comes to seeing dinosaurs, then you will want to make sure and take them to the Museum of Natural History the next time you are in New York City.
The museum has a huge collection of dinosaur skeletons including T-Rex. I recommend starting on the 4th floor where the dinosaur and mammoth exhibits are and then working your way down through the other floors. That way when the kids are to tired to continue, you’ve at least seen the best “kid” part of the museum. Some of the other parts my kids enjoyed was the animals of Asia and the animals of Africa. The museum is large and has many collections to see and you could spend an entire day there, but with kids I would aim for staying two hours and picking out the three areas you most want to see. If the kids are still doing great after that, then your kids are amazing!
The Museum of Natural History is located in Manhattan to the west of Central Park on 79th street. If one of you family members is military the whole family can receive free admission using through Blue Star Museums. This museum has a cafe, so it’s a good place to have lunch.
If the kids aren’t too tired afterwards I highly recommend strolling across the street into Central Park. There are some really great playgrounds in the park.
