snowballThere was a big blizzard (as if any are small) here in Rhode Island that started at noon yesterday and is now tapering off at noon today. That means the kids are clamoring for sledding and playing outside. We are lucky to have a great front yard for sledding but we will head over to Wilcox Park in Westerly to sled with the rest of the town.

This made me wonder about other great sledding spots in Rhode Island so I list below the top sledding spots that I have compiled:

Barrington: Hill at Rhode Island Country Club and behind the Nayatt School.

Bristol: Colt State Park

Central Falls: Jenks Park

Cranston: hill at Cranston West High School & at the Hugh B. Bain Middle School.

Cumberland: Diamond Hill

Exeter: Yawgoo Valley

Glocester: Durfee Hill State Management Area

Johnston: Hill near the Softball fields in Memorial Park.

Lincoln: Chase Farm

Middletown: Hill off the parking lot at Middletown High School

Newport: Morton Park, Aquidneck Park, Fort Adams State Park and hill at St. George’s School.

North Kingstown: Wickford Elementary School.

Providence: Hills at Roger Williams Park, Moses Brown School and Neutaconkanut Hill

Warren: Burr’s Hill Park

Warwick: Slater Grove Park

Woonsocket: Cass Park, Cold Spring Park and Globe Park.

Happy Sledding!
