limelightDuring the 80’s, the Limelight Club was famed for the notorious behaviour that took place under it’s vaulted church arches and stained glass windows. But now it has been transformed into the coolest mini-mall in New York City, the Limelight Marketplace.  The interior has been renovated to perfection and is quite spectacular with a beautiful crystal chandelier at the west end of the marketplace. Definitely walk up to the third floor to get the full effect of the stained glass windows and to see the chandelier up close.

The Limelight Marketplace features a range of retail stores that include Havaianas Flip-Flops (yes, flip-flops), the first Hunter Boot store in the city, LeSportsac, Brocade Home for you, nesters, Alexander West for men, BookSmart, Sophie & Teddy’s Doggie Delights, Caswell-Massey, Petrossian Caviar and many more. There is also a Peak Seasons Market that sells local produce and for you chocolate lovers, MarieBelle cafe and chocolate boutique.

And coming soon for you pizza lovers, Grimaldi’s, the world famous Brooklyn pizzeria.
If you are in the shopping mood for something different or just want a different shopping experience than the stand alone store, the Limelight Marketplace is definitely worth a trip and if you don’t buy anything, you can tell everyone you have to been to the Limelight.

For families with strollers, you will be limited to the first floor since there is no elevator.
