FunCityLogo_2011This summer has benn hotter than ever and when I heard that Fun City opened up this week, I was beyond thrilled. My friend Shoshana from the KosherShopaHolic had a chance to check it out on opening day. Here is what she thought, and I all I can say is that I can’t wait to check it out when camp is out next week!

If you live in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut tri-state area and are looking for some fun, interactive entertainment for your kids on the weekend or when school is out, you are in luck. Fun City, “A Magical Family Fun Center” has just opened to the public in the Palisades Center, West Nyack, NY.

Fun City is an indoor amusement park featuring MagiQuest, Thrill Rides, Bumper Cars, Lazer Tag, Glow Mini Golf and Arcades. It also has a train ride and soft-play area for toddlers. More toddler, mommy-me sections are still on the way.

One of the most exciting and unique features is that it houses the only live-action fantasy adventure game in the New York area, called MagiQuest. MagiQuest is a physical play video game with high-tech special effects and a magic wand. With the wave of the wand, real things happen: video screens come alive, crystals light up, birds talk, treasure chests open and so much more. Magis, as MagiQuest players are called, get to use thier wands and thinking skills to slay dragons, battle goblins and much more.

One of the founders, Mrs. Nadler, explains that Fun City’s games are “a way for parents and children to play together and interact”. MagiQuest allows parents to join with their children in solving riddles, finding clues and moving through the many levels and adventures of the game.

Catering to the needs of one of the largest Jewish Orthodox communities in the nation who live only 15 minutes away from the Palisades Center, Fun City also offers Kosher Pizza in their Kosher-certified restaurant/concession stand.

On our visit to Fun City my kids had such a ball, between the bumper rides and casting their magic wands – which we were able to take home – they now walk around all day waving their wands and can’t wait to go back. We never even had time for the Arcade or lazer tag or many of the other fun features. On our next visit, we plan on giving ourselves a few extra hours and as a mom, I’m so pleased that I don’t have to worry about packing my own Kosher lunch for the family!

On your visit to FunCity mention ”The Kosher Shopaholic“ for a surprise freebie!
