Less than peanuts – you can watch the Mets season opened for free.

Going to Major League baseball games gets more expensive every year, but the NY Mets are putting a unique twist on going to see a game.

The Mets open on the road in 2015, but they are celebrating with a free viewing party at Citi Field on April 6. You can watch the Mets season opener against the Washington Nationals on the new centerfield high definition Citi Vision video display. Free tickets, in blocks of four are available at Mets.com/WatchParty.

Gates open at 3pm, with game time scheduled for 4:05pm. Festivities include entertainment between innings, contests and giveaways, along with the Mets Fan Fest. Concession stands will be open.
