If you live in New York, especially in my neighborhood in Queens, the sight of a Succah is something familiar. The Jewish holiday of Sukkot, one that celebrates the Fall harvest, has Jews from around the world on vacation and enjoying the great outdoors. When a Jewish holiday coincides with a family vacation, there is no shortage of activities.
This year, Coney Island’s Luna Park in Brooklyn, New York, is a place to visit with your family. Sure, it is full of historical landmarks. You didn’t know that Luna Park is home to the world famous Cyclone? It just so happens that the Cyclone celebrated its 85th anniversary this year and has the distinction of being the most copied roller coaster ever built.
In addition to the Cyclone, the Park features 21 rides that cater to every age level. Luna Park is located steps away from a variety of shops, the new and improved boardwalk and beach, the iconic Wonder Wheel and the aquarium.
Just in time for Sukkot, something even more spectacular is happening at Luna Park this year. From October 3-5, Luna Park in Coney Island will be transformed into a Sukkot spectacle complete with a huge Sukkah, Glatt Kosher Food and rides and games for the entire family! The park will also feature 3 special offers for the holiday: The Early Bird Special (From 10AM – 12PM, three hour unlimited ride wristbands will be sold for $19.99); The Family Fun Pack (Get 50 free credits when a $100 credit Luna Card is purchased – a 50% savings); and The Special Scream Zone Offer (Race around the new go-cart track and ride two high-thrill roller coasters for only $15).
For more information, go to LunaParkNYC.com or via phone 718-373-LUNA (5862). You can also email them at firstname.lastname@example.org. Luna Park is located at Coney Island 1000 Surf Avenue Brooklyn New York 11224.
