I love to travel to Baltimore, because the city is the perfect combination of historic and trendy, romantic and fun. And the city seems to be celebrating Valentine’s Day with an event that combines all these characteristics – A Night of Romance at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The sweet evening begins at 6:15 on Sunday, February 13.
Give your valentine a card straight from the heart – and from your own hands – by attending the museum’s card making event, that will be going on from 6:15 through 9:30 pm continuously. After that, enjoy a guided tour featuring the most romantic works of art in BMA’s collection. While your drinking in all these visuals, you can also be sipping champagne and tasting sweet and savory treats along the tour. Jazz riffs from guitarist Kevin Clark will provide the musical background.
Tickets for the Night of Romance are $35 for non-members and $25 for members, and can be purchased online or by calling 1-800-919-6272.
The same evening, the BMA will host Couples Yoga at 7 pm. For $60 a couple ($40 for members), partners can connect on a deeper, more soulful level through the poses of yoga. Price of the Couples Yoga includes tickets to the night of romance. Call 443-573-1832 to register.
Top the evening off at dinner at one of Baltimore’s fine – and tres romantique – restaurants. These are some of our favorites – but make reservations now, as they will certainly be busy catering to couples come V-Day:
- Artful Gourmet Bistro – will feature a signature Valentines martini and romance-inspiring specials.
- The Melting Pot in Annapolis– what can be more romantic than dipping into the same pot of chocolate?
- Pairings Bistro – Belgium cuisine with a Chesapeake Bay flair and the most couples-friendly name of the lot. Look for a special Valentine’s Day menu on Sunday and Monday.
