Transformers-1It’s summer in Chicago. That means heat, humidity, construction and hot stars. This summer, it means Shia LaBeouf and his Transformers 3 co-stars will be in town.

Locals like to complain when Hollywood comes to Chicago, but secretly we love everything about it. We love the buzz about knowing there are stars in town. We love catching a glimpse of some star coming out of his semi-truck trailer. We love straining our necks from behind the barricades in an attampt to see some action. And we love watching the films when they arrive in theaters and pointing out to anyone who will listen which scenes we watched being filmed and which Chicago locations we recognize.

So the prospect of Shia LaBeouf and crew coming to town has Chicago all atwitter. Most of the planned filming will take place downtown and in the Loop, particularly the area around Michigan Avenue and the Chicago River.

According to the Chicago Tribune, here’s where they’ll be, when they’ll be there and what you need to know if you still want to get around Chicago:

Whether you want to get a glimpse of the “Transformers 3” shoot or avoid those areas (and the traffic) at all costs, you’ll want to check out the filming schedule below:
