Adding that personal touch means a lot when you are traveling with kids, Fort Wood Hotels in Pulaski County, Missouri proved to us they offer a personal touch.Β DestinationReview

My kids and I were in town for the 134th Annual Old Settlers Day in Waynesville, Missouri. The talk of town/community is whose duck was going to win the duck races – us being visitors had no clue what they were talking about, nor did we have duck.

On Friday afternoon, I got a message from one of their employees asking if theΒ kids would like to to help decorate the Fort Wood Hotels‘ Duck for the Annual Duck Race.

The kids, still not knowing what duck races were happily obliged to request and spent some time time glitzing up Bell Hop Bob for his race at Waynesville’s Old Settlers Day.

On Saturday, the kids were over joyed as they wondered through the rows of ducks lined up for the races and found Bell Hop Bob. Then as Bell Hop Bob, made way to line up for the race, we had a duck to cheer.

Let me tell you, Β duck races are a serious competition, as the locals of Pulaski County Missouri get excited about their ducks.

We followed the crowd to the river to watch the Duck Race, we were greeted by bull horns, people dressed in duck attire, and lots of cheering.

Unfortunately, Bell Hop Bob came in 5th during his heat (turn to race), but he came in first in the kid’s hearts as they will never forget how special it was to have a duck to cheer on just like everyone else!
