The one thing that I cherish most about my Missouri Travels is my photos, and often some of my favorite photos are off some side road in the middle of no-where. This past week I was forced to clean out some of my photo files on my computer and came across a few of my most treasured Missouri photos.
Late last fall we took an unexpected trip to the cotton fields of Missouri, and this day will probably forever be planted in these two little guys brains. Did you know that Sikeston, MO is farthest north that cotton is grown? Just a fun fact I learned while I watched some of the BIG machines harvest the cotton!
Ha Ha Tonka State Park…..Our Missouri Castle! One day when I was small, and my son (who is 4) was big he rescued his Momma from this great big castle with his white horse named John Deere! Well, not really, but that is the story he tells every time he sees this photo! Ha Ha Tonka has a splendid view from everywhere you stand, and will bring everyone’s imagination alive! Ha Ha Tonka State Park is located in Camdenton, MO
Rocky Falls : We stumbled across this place one day and had a lovely picnic lunch! Located just nine miles outside of Eminence, Mo on highway NN. Rocky Falls in another geological treasure in Missouri. The natural shutins, give an impressive view as the water cascades over the massive rocks! Now it is absolutely beautiful to look at, a perfect place to have a “special” picnic, but it is even more fun to CLIMB and Adventure over those rocks!
No matter where you are on the Mississippi River, you can a have a spectacular view of the tugs and barges making way up the river. This photo of mine was shot in Cape Rock Park at Cape Girardeau, Mo. I am particularly fond of the riverfront, and watching the boats manuever up and down the muddy Mississippi.
Our view from the TOP of the Ferris wheel at the Missouri State Fair. For some you look and see a fair, festival, and carnival rides. I look down and I see Missouri Folks gathered celebrating another year of Missouri Goodness. This particular photo was shot on my daughter’s first ever ride on a ferris wheel, we convinced her that we HAD to get a photo from the top and could not leave her behind. Once to the top, she did not want the ride to end….she had fallen in love with the view!
Have an Adventurous Day!
