Carriage Ridge Resort is a great choice for families looking to escape the Toronto suburbs for a weekend away. We had a chance to check out this resort a couple of months ago during their busy ski season. With large condo-style accommodations, on-site amenities for all-seasons and family-style atmosphere, this is a great choice for families with children of all ages. Unlike many ski resorts, Carriage Ridge is very budget friendly and provides incredible value for their offerings.
The accommodations at Carriage Ridge Resort are huge and offer all the comforts of home. The 800 square foot One-Bedroom Suite offers an open concept living room/kitchen area which is really nice for family breakfasts as the full kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, dishes and anything else you may need. There are bar stools off the kitchen counter, or you can sit at the dining room table located in the living area.
During the winter months, Carriage Ridge offers accessibility to the ski trails with a ski-in and ski-out. If you are lucky enough to book a room directly across from the hills, you can even watch the skiers as they fly down the hills. Or, you can just strap on your own skis and take a ride yourself. The resort offers a full schedule of exciting activities for kids in The Ridge Club, located in the centre of the property. There is a weekly schedule posted here with activities for the kids, most of which are complimentary.
Carriage Ridge was a winner in TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2012 Awards for their 4th consecutive year in Top – CANADA category for ‘Bargain’ accommodations. Whenever I hear ‘Bargain’, I automatically think poor quality. Not sure why that is exactly, but in this case it was completely unwarranted as this resort is wonderful!
