The Disneyland Resort has been home to Disney magic for more than 60 years now. The 60-year celebration has been known as the Diamond Celebration at the Disneyland Resort and the past year has been filled with sparkles, new shows, special tributes and more to celebrate the Disney magic we have all come to love over the years and the man who made it all possible. Since the Diamond Celebration began many have wondered just how long it would continue. Now that we have entered the 61st year of Disneyland, it’s time to say goodbye to the Diamond Celebration. The end date of the celebration is September 5th, 2016, so if you haven’t experienced Disney Diamonds, then now is the time.
Disneyland Diamond Celebration Ends September 5
Disneyland is known for many different things a few of which include the decor, the nighttime spectaculars, and the food. During the Diamond Celebration at Disneyland, each of those gets the diamond treatment. Visitors to the resort can eat candy diamonds on top of diamond cupcakes, see Sleeping Beauty’s castle with diamond towers and watch nighttime spectaculars that are amazing. And the shopping! Oh the shopping! There are sparkles and beautiful Diamond Celebration merchandise that will appeal to everyone from the first time Disneyland visitor all the way to the collector.
Diamond Celebration at Night
The nighttime spectaculars include the now famous, Paint The Night Parade, Disneyland Forever Fireworks Spectacular and World of Color: Celebrate!
The Paint The Night Parade asks you to join Mickey as he unleashes his magic and imagination in a million dazzling lights. Disneyland Forever Fireworks Spectacular immerses you in the show with video, music, fireworks, snow and bubbles from Main Street USA to the facade of It’s a Small World. In California Adventure, World of Color Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney impresses visitors with new ways of bringing Walt Disney and his imagination to life.
Honoring Walt Disney
Since the beginning of World of Color, fans of Disney have been in awe of the things that can be accomplished with water, lights and a bit of magic. During the Diamond Celebration, World of Color takes on new meaning, bringing Walt Disney himself back to life right in front of our eyes.
Neil Patrick Harris narrates, as we join him and Mickey through the Wonderful World of Disney. It’s no longer about the many accomplishments of Disney; it’s about remembering a man who has touched our lives in multiple ways long after he’s passed. Walt Disney is a man that deserves our appreciation and World of Color Celebrate, as big and amazing as it is, is the smallest way we can show that appreciation. For some, the nighttime spectacular in California Adventure Park even brings a tear of joy to their eyes. The show is truly a must see with water, beautiful imagery, lasers, music, lights, and even a ball of fire.
Whether you are a Disney Geek, a Lifelong Fan, or simply passing through, the Diamond Celebration, and World of Color Celebrate! are certainly a must do for your travel plans. After all, when will Disneyland turn 60 again? Never. So be sure to enjoy all of the fun and sparkles before it’s too late.
