Reasons We Think It’s Worth the Cost
The cost of the Memory Maker is $199 or $169 if you purchase it in advance (more on that later). This can seem like an expensive addition to an already expensive trip. We’ve got our list of reasons for why we think it’s worth it.
First Time Visits and Special Occasions
If ever there was going to be a time to purchase the Memory Maker, it would be for first visits. Taking my girls to Disney World for the first time was a special experience for me. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss one moment or even one photo. When you’re at Disney you’re going to want to live in the moment and not stress over being behind a camera the whole time. By buying Disney’s Memory Maker, you won’t have to be. And the person behind the camera will be a trained PhotoPass professional!
Everyone’s Included (Yes, Even Mom!)
How many trips have you been on with your family, but no one would ever know it because you’re never in any of the photos? I’m guilty of spending so much time behind the camera and forgetting to ask someone to include me in the pictures. My most favorite pictures from Disney have been the ones captured by the PhotoPass photographers because they included us all in them.
It wasn’t always about the enchanted castle being in the background or the memorable characters that we took group shots with. When I look back on the photos that included us all, I’m reminded of how incredible the experience was.
Capture Every Moment
My favorite picture from all the ones we got through Memory Maker was one that was taken while we were on one of the attractions. These are pure “magic,” especially when you have a group who learns where the cameras are and poses for them during the rides (so funny). You can take a lot of great photos on your own, but you’ll need Disney to capture your shock and awe while enjoying the rides. Check out this list of rides that take your picture:
- Magic Kingdom– Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Pirates of the Caribbean
- Epcot– Test Track, Frozen Ever After
- Hollywood Studios– Rock ‘n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, The Slinky Dog Dash
- Animal Kingdom– Dinosaur, Expedition Everest
Sharing is Caring and It Saves You Money
Don’t worry, if you’re traveling with family and friends to Disney World, you won’t each have to purchase the Memory Maker. As long as you’ve connect through your My Disney Experience as friends and family, you’ll be able to share the expense of the Memory Maker as well as the benefits. All the photos will be available to anyone sharing an account. This is a great way to save on the cost of the Memory Maker.
Things to Remember about Memory Maker:
- You can purchase Memory Maker in advance and save $30. Just be aware that you must make this purchase at least 3 days prior to your visit. Photos taken within 3 days of purchasing are not included.
