Parking at major city airports can cost more than the plane ticket…unless you know the secret to getting a great deal on daily parking. This option will get you nearby parking, a warm place to wait for the shuffle and drop off right at your airport terminal.
Parking Near the Airport
Headed home for the Holidays? The parking bill at the airport can cost more than the ticket! I’m just back from a weekend away where I utilized one of my favorite discount airport parking secrets: Parking Panda. Parking Panda is this awesome site (also available as an app) that lets you reserve parking in many large cities all over the country. Best of all, they have options to save you money on parking near many major airports.
At my home airport, Washington National, Parking Panda uses local airport hotels that have shuttles directly to and from the terminals. I’ve reserved the Doubletree Crystal City at least five times this year through Parking Panda and have paid between $5 and $10/day for underground parking with covered door to door shuttle service. Even economy parking at National Airport costs $17/day- and you’re waiting at the outside parking lot for the shuttle- a huge inconvenience when the weather turns bad.

Parking Panda is one of a number of parking apps Traveling Mom has tested but Parking Panda is my go-to for airport parking as it consistently has both the best availability and prices.
Even better, I have two ways to save even more at Parking Panda:
- Use Traveling Mom’s invitation link to get an immediate $5 credit.
- Check Groupon for a 50 percent off deal for new customers. Don’t worry what city the deal is based in; Parking Panda credit is good nationwide.
