One of the biggest challenges I found when I came to live in Guatemala was finding good pizza. I made it my task to try as many pizzas as I could find in Antigua but none have been able to please us. The weird part is that pizza is supposed to be an easy thing. Apparently not!

After all this time my husband remembered that there was a place where his parents used to take him when he was a kid where the pizza was really good. He had great memories of it! The place was called Pizza Grizzly but he didn’t know if it existed anymore.

So, after a crazy family adventure in Mundo Petapa IRTRA amusement park, I was determined to discover if it was still open. And guess what? One of the oldest themed restaurants in Guatemala City was still serving delicious pizza.

Why Pizza Grizzly is an Experience (Rather than Just a Pizza Joint)

The minute we walked through the door a cowboy took us to jail (our table).

Of course my boys were loving it!

The whole place has a Wild West theme, with old styled saloons along the walls. Cowboys are the ones that served the food and there is even a Grizzly Bear for kids to climb on.

This is truly the best pizza in Guatemala – and I don’t say this lightly!

They serve brick oven pizza in tons of flavors. Options even include a vegetarian alternative. Different kinds of pasta and appetizers are also served, so it’s not all about the pizza.

Aside from pizza we got the Texas Plate that includes delicious baby back ribs, mozzarella cheese sticks, fries, and jalapeño poppers.

For dessert my boys went for a brownie ice cream. Apparently it was so good that I didn’t get a change to take a photo of it. We also ordered a chocolate cheese cake, it was great!.
