Hotels and families come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Often it can be hard to find a property that is a perfect match. Thankfully, Martinhal Resorts in Portugal has discovered the formula for making families happy. Their properties feature a combination of family-tailored amenities, spacious accommodations, and friendly staff, ensuring visitors return time and time again.
Martinhal Family Hotels and Resorts has four luxury properties in Portugal. Two, Sagres and Cascais, are located near the beach. Martinhal Chiado is in the Lisbon city center. And finally, the Martinhal property in Quinta is located on the golf courses of Quinta do Lago in the Algarve. Each property is unique, but there are similarities consistent with the brand. Here are just a few of the things families will love about Martinhal Resorts in Portugal.
What Families Will Love About Martinhal Resorts in Portugal
1. They understand familiess
The owner of Martinhal resorts, Chitra Stern, is a mother of four children. She traveled the world with her family. This gave her a solid understanding of what the market needed when she prepared to open the Martinhal properties. So she created spaces meant to serve not only individual families, but extended families and groups as well. Therefore, the amenities and programs are for all ages to enjoy, from young children to grandparents. Menus in the restaurants even feature pureed foods for infants. A vacation to Martinhal resorts in Portugal will please everyone in the family.
2. Parents can enjoy themselves with their kids – or without!
Each Martinhal resort has an on-site kids’ club. Parents can leave children for the day while they enjoy the pool or spa or head out to explore nearby towns. Children participate in age-appropriate activities. During the day, children may come and go for free, but there is a charge in the evening. It may be necessary to book some of their popular activities during high season.
Meal time is a special treat at Martinhal Resorts. All of the properties (with the exception of Martinhal Chiado) have multiple restaurants on-site. O Terraço is the perfect family dining option, as it features a kids’ corner where children can play before, during, or after a meal. Parents will enjoy having a conversation while the children are entertained nearby.
3. Two words: Baby Concierge
What? You’ve never heard of a baby concierge? This might be the most amazing thing on the planet. Guests can call ahead and arrange for small items to be delivered to the room, eliminating the need for packing extra gear. Some of the available items include door protectors, bottle warmers, potty training toilets, safety gates, baby cots and baby baths. The resort drivers may even have car seats available for use. One of the unique room features is hide away bunk beds for kids. I have yet to visit any property that offers amenities like this.
4. Luxurious setting means comfort for all
The Martinhal Chiado and Martinhal Cascais properties are luxurious in every way. The hotel rooms, apartments, and villas feature high end details and decor.
Martinhal Chiado is in the center of Lisbon. The apartment we stayed in had a modern vibe with tasteful artwork and a good use of space. The on-site restaurant also has colorful decor and comfortable furnishings. And the kids’ club has many activities for young children and separate areas for infants.
Martinhal Cascais has a beautiful setting. The hotel rooms and villas are spacious and luxurious. The property also has well maintained grounds. The kids’ club is beyond amazing with an indoor/outdoor facility. And older kids would love the zip line, trampoline, and game tables.
As mentioned above, there are four Martinhal Resorts properties. They are all unique in their own way. Martinhal Sagres sits on the beach and all of the hotel rooms have ocean views. This property has a design village with a variety of villas available for rent.
The second property, Martinhal Quinta, does not have hotel rooms, only villas. The resort is part of a private, gated club with access to a golf course. Martinhal Cascais sits about 5 miles from the town of Cascais and offers hotel rooms and villas for guests. Finally, Martinhal Chiado in Lisbon has apartments with all the amenities of home. Whichever location you choose, there is no bad choice.
