Ah, the spa. It’s one of the first places I want to visit when escaping everyday life. Recently, I spent five fun-filled days at Beaches Negril Resort & Spa in Jamaica, and had the opportunity to tour and experience their Red Lane Spa. They offer classic European spa services with a unique Caribbean flair. You can choose from a wide array of body, massage, facial and salon treatments; and also choose where to have it done – at the spa, on the beach or in the privacy of your own suite. Sweet! Indulge solo or with a couples package. They use all-natural organic products made from nourishing tropical ingredients and even boast a Tropical Nail Bar with a palate of eco-vegan nail lacuers and glistening Shellac nail treatments.
Renee and I were in Jamaica to run the Reggae Half Marathon and chose to have 50 minute Tropical Bliss and Sports Relief massages after our race – on the beach. It was pure awesomeness. Our massage therapists were attentive and made sure to apply the perfect amount of pressure that was right for each of us. Listening to the natural sounds of the water and taking in the fresh air made this experience extra special. It was paradise.
Whether you get pampered on the beach or inside the spa, be prepared to be thoroughly relaxed and allow yourself some time to enjoy the feeling. While there are many awesome activities to participate in at Beaches Negril, after the spa I recommend some down time with a lounge chair and a cool tropical drink.
