Novotel Karon Beach hotel on the island of Phuket in Thailand is an awesome family resort. Novotel Karon Beach is a kids paradise complete with a kids’ club, toys in the rooms, and special activities just for kids. Plus there are a variety of food options to make sure families stayed fueled all vacation long.
Novotel Phuket Karon Beach
One of the resorts we stayed at while on the island of Phuket in Thailand was Novotel Phuket Karon Beach Resort. In this one resort, families will find everything they need for a relaxing Thailand vacation. At the resort are multiple restaurants, bars, and swimming pools. There is a kids’ club and a spa too! Plus, it is across the street from the second longest beach in Phuket, Karon beach.
I found this to be a super kid friendly resort. When you stay here, there are a lot of perks for kids included. The kids’ club is large and has a lot to do in it. Younger kids and older kids will have fun here. I know this because I have a 16, 13, and 10 year old and they all enjoyed the kids’ club. They spent a couple of hours in here one day playing video games and getting henna tattoos.
The Fun Continues…
The children’s amenities don’t stop at the kids’ club. When you stay here with children, they set up your room with stuffed animals and toys. My little guy was totally surprised to find toys and stuffed animals in the room. Also great were the welcome drinks and snack. They brought a few other snacks by the room throughout our stay as well. And when my kids polished that off they rapidly went through the minibar!
Novotel Phuket Karon offers specific rooms with bunk beds and rates just for families that include:
- Free accommodation for up to 2 kids under 12 years (when sharing room with parents)
- Free breakfast for up to 2 kids under 12 years
- Personalized Welcome
- Toys, tent, video games in the room
- Welcome treasure in-room
- Gift at Kids Club
- Free activities at Kids Club
- Scavenger Hunt
- Printable souvenir picture
There are some kid activities that cost more, like the water balls. We thought they were worth it though.

A Room of One’s Own
I personally enjoyed having a master bedroom. Even thought my daughter was sharing a room with me, I still felt like I had my own space. When you are traveling for weeks at a time with kids, it can be important at times to have your own space. By the time we got to Bangkok, I had rented a two bedroom because we all needed some space after 14 straight days of togetherness.
The bathroom in the suites is family friend too. When you are traveling with kids, it is always nice to have a bathtub. There is also a shower. Having the double sinks was convenient too. Another nice amenity? Our room had robes and slippers for us – always a welcome treat.
The suites with their own private plunge pool have a large patio with a couch area and a dining area. Sadly, our plunge pool did not get much sun during the day. When you are making your reservation here, make sure to request a suite where the plunge pool gets good sun during the day.

On property are many restaurants. For breakfast, there is a buffet everyday available for purchase at the Horizon Cafe. At this Phuket resort, breakfast is free of charge for 2 children under 16 years old sharing parent’s rooms. For lunch we loved visiting Joe Cool’s Grill next to the pool and having pizza and hamburgers. Our favorite place for dinner was their upscale Asian food restaurant, Tai. The best part besides the food is that kids 12 and under eat for free! Of course, our family never passes up the opportunity to get someone to eat something we think is gross. At Tai we were able to get Noah to eat fish eyeballs. Here’s the video!
Last but not least I have to mention the spa. I had the most amazing Thai massage here. The spa is lovely and a great way to spend an hour or two while the kids play in the kids club.
As you can see it is easy for me to recommend this Phuket resort to families. We had such a wonderful time here and I hope your family does too. There is one thing for sure, you will never forget your time in Phuket, it is an amazing place. For us it was a trip of a lifetime.
