Multi-generational safariThis week we’re talking about multi-generational travel at Traveling Mom. When the grandparents heard their grand-daughter identifying animals at the zoo, they decided at age 77 that it was time to take an African safari, and they weren’t going to go without their 7-year-old grand-daughter.  With ages at both ends being a concern and not wishing to take anti-malerial medications, we did some research and came up with a perfect destination, South Africa.  Based in Cape Town, the itinerary combined 2 malaria-free game reserves and a roadtrip along the Garden Route, incorporating wine country and culture for the grandparents with safari and beach fun for the kids. It made for a refreshing change from cruising, for around the same cost, and was a special time together with lots of lasting memories.
