Tucked away against the pristine white sandy beaches of Sharjah, you’ll find the lovely and quaint Coral Beach Resort. From the location, you’d never guess there was a tropical paradise awaiting you inside the walls of the hotel grounds. Gorgeous palm trees, lush green grass, parakeets and lovebirds singing, the ocean crashing, and sounds of children’s laughter make this resort the perfect place to call home for any number of nights. Three pools await you, including a small zero entry children’s pool with a neighboring playground and indoor play area, a larger plunge pool in a shaded and more secluded area and the large zero entry family pool complete with two water slides.
For fun, try any of the number of activities around the hotel grounds, including air hockey, table tennis, trampoline, billiards, tennis, karate, water aerobics and even lawn yoga. If you’re just looking to relax, you must treat yourself to either the Thai massage and treatments or the Ayurveda massage and treatments, located in two separate huts on site. I very highly recommend the Abhyangam 60 minute Relaxation Massage at the Ayurvedic Massage hut. It met all expectations and I would go back again in a heartbeat. The tranquil setting and breathtaking views of the ocean will surely soothe your soul. And if you’re looking to keep fit during your stay, the gym is large and fully equipped, ready to take a pounding.
Dining is easy while staying at the Coral Beach Resort, as you have six wonderful eateries to choose from to satisfy your cravings. You’ll find casual cafe style dining, buffets, snack bar by the pool and finer dining on the beach. We were able to indulge in the Friday Brunch at Al Bahar which offered a wide variety of International cuisine, and the Friday night beach BBQ at Casa’ Samak featuring grilled on demand fish, steak, chicken and lamb. The kids were able to find foods they enjoyed at both restaurants which is always important when dining out for us. 24 hour room service is also available, from which we chose to have our breakfast both mornings…try the omelet, it was great!
During your stay, you can choose a hotel room, some offering amazing sea views, or one of three villas across the street, sleeping up to 10 people. We were able to stay in a villa which turned out to be perfect for our family of five. There are four bedrooms, a very large living room, a dining room and kitchen. Share it with friends, book it for a gathering, or just have the extra space for your family to get comfortable.
You also get the added benefit of a completely walled in and gated yard with grass for your little ones to run around and get out any extra energy. The kitchen provided another convenience for us, as we were able to store food in the fridge and heat up snacks for the kids. We called the hotel car service each time we wanted to go on site, free of charge, as crossing the street would be a hazard for young ones due to the heavy traffic. We never waited more than five minutes for someone to arrive, and it takes one minute to get to the hotel door. They will also take you to other destinations in Sharjah, as there are many options for entertainment and history throughout the city.
From top to bottom, inside and out, we found this resort to be clean and welcoming. The staff went over and above to make sure your stay was just as you like, and their attention to the children was five-star. April ends the high-season, so we arrived just in time for the smaller crowds of people. It was interesting, as majority of the people were from Russia, I must mention that they followed the European sunbathing norm including less full coverage swim suits for men and women. Just a fair warning for the more conservative crowds intending to visit what is thought to be a very conservative Emirate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely plan on visiting again soon.
Right now, and throughout the summer, you can take advantage of some amazing deals to this resort. Everything from 25% discounts, inclusive packages, family packages and more.
*Disclosure: One night stay, Beach BBQ, Brunch and one massage treatment were won by myself at a charity auction. The second night stay and upgrade to the villa were complimentary. The opinions of the hotel services, accommodation and food are my own.
