2011 CityPASS Pocket HORZIf you’ve used CityPASS®, you already know what a great deal these coupon books offer at major North American destinations, but starting December 15, 2012, take advantage of the CityPASS Winter Special and take up to 76 days to redeem your passes! Travelers purchasing or activating previously purchased booklets will have up to 76 days to redeem your passes for New York City, Seattle, Houston, Boston, Philadelphia and Hollywood!

CityPASS ticket booklets are a budget-saving option for travelers — up to 50% savings!  With the expanded usage period during the Winter Special, locals will find value in the booklets, whether hosting friends or family members over the holidays or entertaining their kids over the winter break. Regional visitors will also be able to spread their exploration of the cities over several weekends during the Winter Special.

I personally used CityPASS while visiting my stepdaughter in Boston, and we took advantage of several attraction discounts, including the spectacular 360-degree view of BeanTown from the Skywalk Observatory. CityPASS offered complimentary admission ticket where you can see up to 100 miles away on a clear day. We were excited to see Fenway Park, on the 100th anniversary of the Yankees game.  The streets were  lined with vehicles and the stadium was a busy place already!

CityPass winter-specialOther bird’s eye views at the Skywalk Observatory included popular landmarks  such as Boston’s Hancock Tower, Fenway Park, the Boston Common and Public Garden, the Esplanade and Hatch Shell, the Charles River, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, MIT, Harvard University and countless other Boston landmarks. Not only did we enjoy discounts, but the CityPASS also served as a resource for things to do in Boston.

With the CityPass Winter Special, instead of the usual 9 days to use remaining attraction tickets once activated, the Winter Special waives the 9-day rule, allowing CityPASS holders to extend the usage period up to 76 days (until February 28, 2013) to redeem attraction tickets (one use per individual ticket) – and skip the lines with VIP access.

CityPASS ticket booklets can be purchased online at CityPASS.com or at any of the participating attractions. Prices start at $39 for adults, $29 for kids. Customers who purchase — or start using a previously purchased CityPASS ticket booklet — for the participating cities on or after Dec. 15, 2012, will have until Feb. 28, 2013, to use the included admission tickets. For travel starting Feb. 20, 2013, or later, the normal nine-day validity period will apply. Note: Each attraction admission ticket included in a CityPASS booklet may be used for only one admission to the respective attraction.
