TravelingMom has been a force on the web for years. A collection of strong women of all ages from various backgrounds who come together for the love of family (and solo) travel! Thanks to our weekly Twitter parties every Monday at 9 p.m. ET, we were chosen by Parents Magazine as a 50 Best of the Web winner – and we’re just thrilled! The timing is particularly celebratory for us as we all head off to Walt Disney World for our annual Writer’s Retreat next week and will be able to celebrate as a team. Read on for our thoughts and a quick overview for those new to the site.
Our Best of the Web Award Goes To TravelingMom Readers!
Without our readers and the fantastic folks that chime in every week on our Twitter parties, this award wouldn’t be possible. So thank you, truly, from the bottom of our team of traveling hearts. We appreciate every like, comment, click, retweet and we love interacting with you.

About Our Site: How to Navigate TravelingMom
New here? We’re excited to have you. Here’s a little about us. We are a collection of travel writers- moms, grandmas, frequent travelers, homeschoolers, large families, single child families, US based and international. The vision for TravelingMom is to serve as a collective where anyone can come to find info. We have niches that describe what we normally write about- National Parks TravelingMom, Rural TravelingMom, Unplugged TravelingMom– so that you can choose a writer that has kids similar in age or matches your style of travel. Or you can just search a destination and it’s likely that one of us has been there!
In addition to destination specific stories, we are brimming with travel tips from 6 Tips for Flying with Toddlers to 8 Things You Must Buy Before A Disney Vacation to Why You Should Keep a Penny in the Freezer. Packing? We’ve got you covered with articles like the 7 Uses for Ziploc Bags, 8 Essentials for Your Beach Packing List, and What My Parents Taught Me About How to Pack a Suitcase. And our Free in the 50 States section has a gathering of free things to do from San Diego to New York City and everywhere in between.
