Twitter Party Recap: Family Cars
WHAT ARE MUST-HAVES IN A FAMILY CAR FOR A #ROADTRIP? #TMOM
@DebMomof3 My fave feature of the minivan we rented for our road trip last yr was stow-n-go-seating. Added SO much storage!
@JULIE_CONN GPS and books!
@MollyDo2 Air Conditioning, GPS and a extra driver.
@DeftonesGirly81 I have an emergency bag in the trunk with flares, cones, etc. Need to keep a blanket & water as well!
@jspd We talk puke a lot here! Small garbage/plastic bags (dog poop ones r perfect!), paper towels, wipes in a small bucket.
@MaryHeston Almost left luggage in WY – to get it back we had to ride in the town parade.
WHAT’S THE CRAZIEST THING YOU’VE SEEN ON A #ROADTRIP? #TMOM
@OhioCatfish We have traveled during ice storms and blizzards.
@jspd Do cows count? I’ve had to wait for escaped cows in northern NY.
@princessducky15 Actually, driving through a blizzard in IL and seeing a truck on it’s side and many accidents and cars in the ditch.
@CindyRichards Saw 32 cars in ditches or flipped in a white-out storm. We counted.
@erodg Upside down jeep in the air headed toward my car. Swerved out of the way. Jeep driver walked away.
WHERE IS YOUR IDEAL #ROADTRIP DESTINATION? WHY? #TMOM
@kymri Yellowstone. Any way you get there. it’s worth it. So beautiful and right in the heart of USA.
@kimorlando Grand Canyon via backroads- luv dusty small towns.
@dipaolamomma Old Route 66. I love the Americana of a trip like that. Cheesy roadside attractions, small towns, greasy spoons.
@yadi25cast Disneyworld because my little guy would have so much fun!
@maryheston I luv driving on St Lucia (But its WILD) narrow winding roads/driving on left side/goats in road It’s Totally FUN.
@twinlins i’d roadtrip anywhere, truly.
#ROADTRIP: PASSENGER OR DRIVER? WHY? #TMOM
@ElenaSonnino I prefer being the passenger. I would much rather enjoy the scenery.
@shineyaim I never get to be the driver…not because I don’t want to be but hubby loves to drive!
@nycmartini Driver. I’m the worst passenger.
@zkellyq Doesn’t matter. Passenger becomes navigator, climate control mgr, and car DJ. Driving is easier!
@kwilson887 Honestly, I HATE driving but long empty roads are easy. Just not LA traffic. I still prefer passenger though.
WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT WHEN YOU BUY A CAR–DAILY USE OR TRAVEL? WHY? #TMOM
@erodg Daily use! BC that’s what I do the most. Unfortunately.
@princessducky15 Daily use that can handle a roadtrip.
@nycmartini Daily use. I need to make sure this is a car I want to drive everyday.
@dipaolamomma Space! All the other features are pointless if you can’t get everyone & all their gear in th car.
@CindyRichards Daily use. Spend more time carting kids around town than road tripping
@DisneyMom917 Daily use – taking my kids everywhere and I want to be safe and have a reliable car.
@kymri Most important when I buy a car- Can I fit my surfboard inside or on top?
@ramblingstump For #vt we always have to consider seasonal use. Will it make it up the road in snow? Is it high enough up to survive mud season?
WHAT’S ON YOUR ROADTRIP PLAYLIST? #TMOM @nnacua 80 and 90s mix! Oh yeah!
@ginette4 Lots of Classic Rock.
@JazzyTJan I listen to Sirius radio. I don’t have a playlist anymore. Of course, if my husband is in the car…we do.
@TheeJuliette Madonna & The Wheels on the Bus- great mix.
