My husband and I try to go out and have a romantic day without the kids at least once every month. During one of those getaways we decided to take a private Salsa lesson. The academy we chose out of the many salsa schools all over Antigua is called Salsa Chapina Dance Company.
Our instructor (Alex) mentioned that they have classes for the whole family & we had so much fun that we decided to come back, but this time with our son. At first my little man wasn’t too excited about the idea of learning how to dance. He was a bit shy about dancing as we watched him but as the minutes passed he started to feel comfortable.
Before we knew it he was smiling and having a lot of fun!
Once he got confident we decided to join him. We all danced, laughed & had a great afternoon. This was definitely something I’d recommend to anyone who is looking for a different kind of family adventure.
Alex was so nice with our son! He knew exactly what to do to make him feel confident & you can tell by the look on his face that he loves dancing & showing people how to dance.
In this occasion we only tried the basic salsa moves but he also offers classes of other Latin dances like: rumba, cumbia, bachata and meringue for adults, kids couples & even groups.

We will definitely go back for more! And you shouldn’t miss this if you visit Guatemala.
