One of the things I learned when a Walgreens pharamacist gave my medicine cabinet an overhaul is that you don't need always need a 3 oz bottle of something to make travel easier. I probably should never show this to anyone... !

But you should know that expired pills -- like ibuprofin -- can still be used after the expiration date. Advice from my doctor. You should definitely throw out any liquids, but the pills (not gels) are stable for some time after the expiration.
