Travel insurance provides peace of mind

Even the best-planned cruise vacations can go awry due to events that are beyond your control, such as unpredictable weather, cancelled flights or sudden illness.   Consider protecting your financial investment and your sanity by purchasing travel insurance.

Cruise lines offer travel insurance as well as third-party partners like Travel Guard and RBC Insurance.  The travel protection plans from the cruise lines tend to cost more and their coverage is not as good compared to plans offered by an outside travel insurance company.   Premiums are determined by age and on some policies children are covered at no additional charge.

Trip protection plans have a variety of coverage options that can provide reimbursement for pre-paid, non-refundable travel expenses if your cruise vacation is cancelled or interrupted.  For example, if you become ill while on a cruise, travel insurance can cover the cost of your transportation to a hospital or to your home.  You can even purchase insurance that will reimburse you for lost or damaged baggage.  Many companies that provide travel insurance also offer 24-hour assistance lines to provide help and advice.

While no one wants to think about what could go wrong on a cruise vacation, you may look forward to your cruise even more when you know your investment is safeguarded by travel insurance.  Ask your cruise travel expert about the travel insurance options available to you.
